Still here...

Well, I am still battling severe anxiety and depression, but am working on getting out and being social for small chunks at a time.

I am now seeing that I will get through this, it just requires me to stay strong and focused. Neither of which come natrally to me.

As a small step in this, I took a day trip to sacramento today to visit some good friends, a new yarn store and an interesting restaurant.

I'm doing ok with school and keeping up with homework. The past few days of rain have kept me from going out too much and being a wild party girl.

So, basically just wanted to stay I am still here and getting better. Hope to be stable enough to post regularly again soon.

Struggling...

Sorry for the silence the past several days. I'm battling depression, in combination with several crappy things happening all at once. I'm struggling right now to keep pushing through the forces that seem to be working against me.

Is there light at the end of the tunnel? I hope so...

Project 365 - Day 6

Not an artistic photo, but it was so cute. Amelia was giving the new Dream In Color yarn an inspection. She seems to have approved.

Photo of the day!

As I was walking from the bus stop to school tonight I noticed the striking contrast of the tree in front of this house. The bare branches curling upward juxtapose nicely with the strong vertical lines of the house.

Hopefully you'll find it as beautiful as I did.

Project 365 -- day 3

Frozen grass from this mornings walk with the dog.

This is a vacation?

One of the specific challenges I have faced in being a both a full-time employee and student is the sometimes conflicting schedules. Today is an example of this...

My online statistics class requires exams to be taken in person, the professor offers two choices of times that the test can be taken, 4:00p - 5:30p or 6:00-7:30p. Because I have a class on Wednesday evenings, I need to take the exam at 4pm.

So, this requires me to arrange time off of work for each instance of this. This time comes from my allotment of vacation days. I guess this is ok, as I really can't afford to take true vacations. But, it does limit the time I am able to take off work for non-school related things which is a challenge. We all need a day off once in a while, right?

The crazy schedule of days like this is exhausting. I am sure by the time I get home tonight, I'll be ready for bed. Here is what the day looks like:
8:30-3p - Work (eat lunch at desk)
3p-4p - Home to walk dog, then rush to campus on the other side of town
4p-5p - Statistics exam
5p-6p - Deal with 5pm traffic getting from one campus to another
6p-9p - Historical Geology

I'm tired already.
